Many lines of evidence support the contribution of viral infections in the development of islet autoimmunity and type 1 diabetes. This seminar will provide an overview of the ongoing investigations within the ENDIA study aimed to examine without bias, all viruses (i.e. the virome) and their potential contribution to childhood islet autoimmunity.
